Semester I: Core Fundamentals & Programming Basics
The first semester focuses on building foundational knowledge of hardware, operating systems, and entry-to-intermediate level programming.
Fundamentals of Information Technology & Computers:
Computer organization and architecture, input/output devices, memory units, number systems, and basic operating systems (Windows/Linux).
PC Packages / Office Automation Tools:
MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Workspace tools, and basic database handling with MS Access.
Programming in C / Python:
Syntax, data types, control structures (loops, conditionals), arrays, functions, pointers (in C), and file handling.
Computer Organization and Architecture:
Boolean algebra, logic gates, instruction cycles, memory organization, and microprocessors.
Practical / Lab Work:
Hands-on implementation of MS Office tools, Windows configurations, and basic C/Python programming.
Semester II: Advanced Concepts, Web & Databases
The second semester introduces database management, software engineering, and web development technologies.
Database Management Systems (DBMS) & RDBMS:
ER modeling, Relational Algebra, SQL queries (MySQL / Oracle), normalization, and database security.
Data Structures & Algorithms (DSA):
Arrays, stacks, queues, linked lists, trees, sorting, and searching algorithms.
Object-Oriented Programming (C++ / Java):
Classes, objects, inheritance, polymorphism, constructors, and exception handling.
Data Communication & Computer Networks:
OSI model, TCP/IP protocol, LAN/WAN topologies, switching, and basic internet security.
Web Technologies / Web Design:
HTML, CSS, JavaScript basics, PHP, or dynamic web development principles.
Software Engineering:
Software development life cycle (SDLC), requirement analysis, testing methodologies, and project management.
Major Project / Practical Lab Work:
Development of a minor or major software application using database connectivity and a chosen programming language.
